Muzie 2.0 Is Live!

We are excited to announce the launch of Muzie.Live 2.0, a complete redesign of our platform with a host of new features and improvements.

When the Muzie Team sat down in early 2022 to discuss the direction for our product and roadmap, it was clear that increased usability and an enhanced user experience was top priority. Fast forward a year later, Muzie 2.0 has been released with a complete overhaul of the user interface (UI). The UI improvements have enabled us to build upon our suite of teaching tools and introduce some exciting upgrades.

Improved UI

As a first priority, we re-designed the UI to enable ease of navigation within the platform and provide a more intuitive experience for teachers and students. Our previous grid-like format is now organized into a sleek tab system. All teaching and practice tools are now present in a series of tabs along the top of your screen, whether you're in or outside a lesson. Our full suite of tools will look, feel and have the same capabilities in your teacher portal, as they do while you're teaching your lessons.

We’ve taken this opportunity to organize students in a new way which allowed us to give teachers the ability to create customized groups of their students. This has been a frequent feature request over the years, and will enable teachers to easily start group lessons and share out content.

The “News Feed'' is a new essential addition to the UI and will improve the way students interact with their teacher and lesson content. The “News Feed” provides a live feed of all of their lesson or practice activities, materials shared and awards received. For teachers, the News Feed will host all the activities throughout their studio within Muzie.

Feature Upgrades

The Whiteboard - There are now two different types of Whiteboards: Public or Private. A Private Whiteboard is similar to how a whiteboard functioned in Muzie previously, however it also allows you to filter by student to see only that individual's changes. On the other hand a Public Whiteboard allows for group collaboration where changes made are seen by the teacher and all students that have been shared with the board. The Public Whiteboards are an exciting solution for collaborative assignments. In addition, we’ve also re-designed the Whiteboard elements, added new elements and even included the ability for teacher’s to upload their own elements.

Clips - In my opinion, one of the most exciting updates in this release is CLIPS 2.0. In addition to a visual redesign, you can now create collaborative multi-layered compositions in real time. CLIPS also allows for both private and public compositions similar to that of the Whiteboard - which makes the possibilities here endless. Add compositions as a part of an assignment or even use CLIPS to record an ensemble live in a group lesson. We honestly can’t wait to see what you create.

Assignments - Assignments have quickly become one of our most popular tools over this past year. That’s why we wanted to take the time to enhance your student’s learning experience. Student’s are now able to fully engage with their assignment’s materials. For example within the assignment a student can now collaborate with you on a multi-layered clip or use the Whiteboard to complete their music notation homework.

Lesson Recordings - We’ve completely re-designed Lesson Recordings. While you will still need to start a lesson recording prior to the start of the lesson, you can now pause these throughout the lesson and record in tandem with CLIPS.

Subscription Updates

With the launch of Muzie 2.0, we are simplifying our subscription options and will now only offer two account types: FREE and PRO.

Our previously offered Standard accounts did not provide teachers the full benefit of Muzie.Live and had limited access to valuable features. If you are currently subscribed to a Standard account, you will be upgraded to PRO. We understand that some teachers may have chosen the Standard option for financial reasons, and we want to assure you that there will be no extra cost for the automatic upgrade.

Thank You For Your Support

We want to thank every single one of our teachers and students for being with us every step of the way and staying patient as we developed Muzie 2.0. Behind the scenes this year, it’s been a rollercoaster to get this new platform in your hands. After all the hard work to get here, I am confident that you’ll be as proud of this product as I am. After all, we couldn’t have done it without our community, your support and feedback.

If you have any questions, please reach out directly to our chat support, user.support@muzie.live or book a session to go over the changes here
